*Drug Testing

Any United States citizen may join the USBF. But to actually participate in USBF Competitions, participants must understand that the USBF is a drug free organization and urinalysis is the testing method. The USBF has adopted the IOC’s Anabolic Steroid Banned Substance List which includes related substances such as Andro (converts to testosterone) and 19-Nor (converts to Nandrolone). The fact that a substance is sold over-the-counter does not automatically make it acceptable for drug tested competition. As a competitor that chooses to compete in drug tested competition, you are responsible for being knowledgeable about the supplements that you consume.

USBF BANNED SUBSTANCE LIST

(The following list is offered as a guide and by no means should be viewed as complete. There are related substances that may also produce a positive result that are not specifically noted below)

BOLDENONE, CLENBUTEROL, CLOSTEBOL, DANAZOL, DEHYDROCHLORMETHYLTEST, DIHYDROTESTOSTERONE, DROSTANOLONE, FLUOXYMESTERONE, FORMEBOLONE, MESTEROLONE, METADIENONE, METENOLONE, METHANDRIOL, METHYLTESTOSTERONE, NANDROLONE, NORETHANDROLONE, OXANDROLONE, OXYMESTERONE, OXYMETHOLONE, STANOZOLOL, TESTOSTERONE (test / epitest ratio at a value greater than 6 is considered positive), TRENBOLONE, MIBOLERONE

A positive drug test can result in a life-time ban from the USBF.

*BENCH PRESS

The lift will start once the lifter unracks the weight from the bench. The lifter must have his arms locked at the beginning of the lift or once the hand off is given to him from the spotter. From the arms locked position the lifter will bend his arms and bring the weight down to his chest. Once the bar is MOTIONLESS the head referee will give the PRESS signal. The lifter will then begin to press the weight to the lockout position. Once the lifter locks out the weight the referee will then tell the lifter to RACK the weight.

Cause for disqualification include

*DEADLIFT

The lifter will begin the lift once he starts the initial pull from the floor. The lift will be considered complete once the lifter is standing straight with his shoulders straight and erect. The head referee will then give the DOWN signal. The lifter will then set the weight back down on the floor with both hands under control.
